GUO concert Carel Kraayenhof and Leoni Jansen

Carel Kraayenhof and Leoni Jansen two inspired, versatile professional musicians both live in the Beemster, the oldest large polder in the Netherlands. They almost happen to be each other's neighbors. During covid both of their work fell silent independently. They sought each other out, sometimes within a meter and a half of each other, sometimes outside in that wide, flat meadow landscape of that vast polder. Without an audience, of course, but safe and, challenging each other, just as much fun. Carel on his melancholy bandoneon and Leoni vocally, on guitar and bodhran, the Celtic goatskin hand drum. Together they have built a wonderful, diverse repertoire, ranging from their shared passion for celtic music, especially from Ireland and Scotland, through classics by shared childhood heroes such as Bob Dylan, Randy Newman and Sting to music rooted in Latin America.
