Nutcracker Suite and other Iconic Ballets for piano, Ekaterina Litvintseva

Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite is perhaps the most iconic ballet in the world. Partly because of the Walt Disney classic Fantasia, it is loved by young and old alike. Pianist Ekaterina Litvintseva plays this most famous piece from the world's cherished ballets, alongside Tchaikovsky's famous ballet Romeo and Juliet by Prokofiev and Strawinsky's beautiful The Firebird.

Ekaterina Litvintseva followed an unconventional path in her development as a pianist. After studying at the Moscow State Frédéric Chopin College of Music, she moved to Germany where she continued her education and took lessons with Robert Kulek, Rudolf Kehrer, Dmitri Bashkirov and a master class with Bernd Glemser. Through the various influences and views, she developed an analytical view of piano playing and drawing on experiences in Russia, she developed her very recognizable and distinctive piano style.
