EKWC

Artist-in-residence-centre and research center EKWC in Oisterwijk is the world's most famous knowledge and development center for ceramics, aiming to promote the development of ceramics in art, design and architecture. During tours, EKWC allows visitors to see, hear, feel and smell as many ceramics as possible. Much to the enthusiasm of this previous visitor: "That all this is possible, great that this exists."

Annually the center receives about 60 artists, designers and architects from all over the world. The center is therefore fully (in)focused on an international audience. Both lovers of art and design and makers (ceramists, designers, artists) can see here the uniqueness of an artist residency. Artists are working here 24 hours a day. EKWC is a workshop, where developments are shown to the public, something that sets it apart from regular museums. Tickets for regular tours can be booked on the website(https://ekwc.nl/rondleidingen). Tours for groups of eight or more can be booked by appointment.

"The energy is in the air here"
During a visit to EKWC, you will see works that are about to be moved to a gallery or museum. EKWC is located in perhaps the liveliest place in Oisterwijk, on the grounds of the former royal leather factory KVL. A dynamic place that is constantly changing and where making is central. And if you get hungry during your visit: at Koffiebar en -branderij Koffiemiep you can enjoy freshly roasted coffee with homemade cakes or delicious lunch dishes.

EKWC shop
The experimentation of the artists, designers and architects with clay produces both extraordinary works of art and technical innovations. A fine selection of ceramics can be found in the EKWC shop. From authentic Oisterwijk tiles, works of art by known and unknown artists to an original gift of ceramics, all this beauty is for sale in the store. Feel free to drop in! The store is open Monday through Saturday from 09:00 - 17:00.

Accessibility
